Welcome to Timeless + Joyful photography…
My professional studio space is located in downtown Niles, Michigan. I also photograph sessions on location and all over the southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana areas. I capture Weddings, Newborns, Children, Families, High School Seniors, and Professional Headshots.
My husband and I are raising two VERY energetic little boys. #boymom We’ve started our adventure with homeschooling this year and although it terrifies me, I am successfully teaching my 5 year old to read. Prior to running my photography studio, I was a Registered Nurse for 10 years. Nursing has taught me valuable & priceless skills that have helped me serve others and be successful at what I do. It’s been helpful when working with Newborn Babies, because safety and health are so important when it comes to photographing newborns. Also, my background in nursing has taught me the leadership and critical thinking skills necessary for flawlessly capturing your busy and dynamic Wedding Day. I’ve never once encountered a “bridezilla” or had any mishaps on a wedding day. I’ve heard those stories, but my brides have been the most thoughtful and caring people to work with. I pinch myself daily when I think about the amazing clients I get to work with!
…a few other things…..
I wear the color black more than any other because I love all things “classic.” I was adopted as an infant. I ALWAYS have a statement (larger) ring on my right hand. I do NOT like sushi or seafood, but I do love to cook and eat almost anything else. I am not an extreme health nut but I strive for a lifestyle of fitness & balance—meaning I’ve ran many 5k’s and even a half marathon but also we do eat lots of cookies around here! I am an early riser and am most productive between 5-6am. I do believe Coffee is magical…or maybe that it just tastes really good :) We have a pretty adorable and crazy Pug that compliments our household well.
What i’ve done
I am OVERJOYED to have had an image voted to be The WeddingDay Magazine’s best “real wedding photo” of 2018. I am part of the PPA (Professional Photographers of America) and have also been inducted as a member to the NAPCP (National Association of Professional Child Photographers), and last year I was a finalist for their annual Best Emerging Child Photographer Competition.
Being a part of professional associations helps me stay current and continue to further my education as a professional photographer. I’m often approached and hired from marketing agencies as far as the west coast to photograph local business professionals in our area for nationwide campaigns. I have even photographed one of our Michigan State Senators and his family, in which my photos adorned their Christmas Cards sent out to around 8,000 households in SW Michigan.
